Ethical Culture was founded in New York City in 1876. Since that time Ethical Societies have been founded across the United States. The Ethical Culture Society of Westchester was founded in 1921 and became a member of the American Ethical Union in 1929. Originally located in New Rochelle, the society moved to its present site in 1963.
Members of our Society founded:» The Nursery School of Ethical Culture Society of Westchester» Futura House» The Guidance Center of New Rochelle » and hosted the first public forum on abortion rights in the 1960's.
We participate in numerous service projects: » Charter member of the Westchester Coalition for Democracy » Bridges to Community » Habitat for Humanity » Amnesty International » Coalition for the Hungry and Homeless Food Pantry » Hope Community » Human Development Services of Westchester » WESTHAB » The Bridge Fun » Four Feathers » Adopt-a-Road Program
Our fellowship entails a commitment to one another and to promoting caring and justice in the world around us.
